This product was a pleasant surprise in that it has staying powder and a decent amount of pigment. The texture is nothing like the Avon "Dew Kiss" kind of gloss that is slippery. This goes on thin, but has a lip-gripping texture, probably because the first ingredient is castor oil, a lipstick ingredient, not the average waxy or oily lip balm ingredients. The texture is a great "real lips" texture with the look of a stain. It isn't all that glossy. The color Brown Sugar seems to be neutral with a hint of some other colors in it. It isn't a flat, blah brown. I actually wore it with a lipstick darkener under it, just because I like the effect, but it is a medium-dark color on its own. There are two other colors Hot Pink and Bright Orange. I'm thinking of getting these to mix with the brown; there obviously isn't a lot of color selection. That is one reason I gave it a 4. The other reason is that the sunblock is not really browd spectrum. So if you like the texture of a stain, this is worth a try.
