I bought this stuff because I thought an ointment, which contains water, might be more moisturizing than a straight oil-and-wax lipbalm. I couldn't tell any difference in that regard, but the ointment has two major drawbacks: It makes your lips white and it contains strong mentholated ingredients that dry out the lips. Okay, and a third drawback: It smells awful, like Ben-Gay!
