Now, in my 40s, I'm just learning makeup. I came to this site and discovered this gel eyeliner. Yeah! I'm happy because I have, as others have mentioned, very oily eyelids and liners usually only last about 1 hour on me before sticking to the tops of my lids and smudging everywhere. The cool thing is that when I went to Nordstroms to buy the eyeliner, the lady at the counter gave me a 101 on eye makeup. I learned that smudging, especially on oily lids, will always occur unless you put a bit of powder on the eyelids and lashes first. She suggested the basic 'ivory' eye shadow (which really doesn't show up as white.) Then she suggested the sage shimmer eye shadow for finishing (which one can put over the eyeliner and lid... blah blah.) But this is amazing because what I've learned is by doing this, even the cheapest eyeliner (pencils - like Iconic) lasts all day with the base and finishing shadows, and it's so much easier to put on. So, for special occasions, I'm happy to use the long wear gel, but now I can also use other eyeliners. Just thought I'd share my experience for other beginners out there.
