I wanted to try a purple mascara with my green hazel eyes, so I purchased this and Benefit's mascara in "Eggplant". This mascara is absolute garbage, but mostly due to the packaging design. Unlike most mascaras where the opening of the tube is narrower than the brush, so the extra globs of mascara are wiped out as you pull out the brush, the opening of this tube is actually wider than the brush so all of the globs stay on the brush. I have tried lightly wiping the brush with a tissue to clean some of it off but I still can't get a good application. The brush just leaves my lashes clumpy and I find that the formula is impossible to apply evenly to my lashes. I have tried several times now to make it wearable (such as using very, very light layers) but it still clumps and leaves my lashes looking horrible. The "Prune Eclat" is a purple mascara so if you are looking for a purple mascara I would recommend Benefit's mascara in "Eggplant" (it is not perfect, but it is MUCH better than this!). I think Benefit's also has a prettier purple color that makes your lashes dark eggplant purple instead of bright easter-egg purple like this Bourjois mascara.
