I applied this lipstick over colourless lipbalm for a smoother application, but the pigment came on rather unevenly, and more color seemed to collect in the grooves of my lips. I managed to smooth it out with a lipbrush, which made it look much better, however the color is rather dark for my skintone (tanned, yellow-golden tones). What I did to make it wearable was to blot it down with a tissue. It softened the color dramatically, and matted it down, and from afar, it gives my lips a "just-bitten" appearance.
