Quartz is one of Chantecaille's "shine" eyeshadows: light/medium grayish mauve with soft shimmer. It looks very pretty in the pan. The color is sheer, which is good for an understated look, but it is too sheer for my taste. I don't mind sheer as long as I have the option to build color intensity. With Quartz, I can apply, say, four layers, and the color is as light and sheer as if I applied only one. I do wear this eyeshadow semi-regularly though, usually to work when I want to look polished. I tend to wear it with grays and soft purples. Quartz looks nice worn with Shu Uemura M Gray 943 (grayish purple) and Stila Viola (purplish mauve with silvery gray undertone) in particular. The texture is super soft and blendable. The eyeshadow wears fine on me, but not quite as well as, for example, Shu, Cargo, Stila and UD. If one prefers a sheer eye look, then Chantecaille is a brand to check out. The shades are beautiful, and the quality is above average. For me, however, I do not think this product was worth the price I paid for it.
