I believe the three steps are:
1) Purchase product under pressure from Clinique's sorta-dermatologists
2) Try product
3) Groan unto God, "Why?"
I have adult acne and oily skin even on my eyelids, so I bought the Oily Skin soap, the #4 toner for "strongest skins," and of course that petroleum-laden lotion fit only for callused heels or squeaky brakes. I think it's ridiculous that the soap does not remove makeup; what the #@!?# else would I use soap for? The toner was the only saving grace, as it does contain salicylic acid for my acne. The lotion, as mentioned before, was a total throwaway. It contains cheap ingredients like mineral oil and propylene glycol. It does not provide sunscreen, wrinkle treatment, acne treatment, or anything else I'd want in a lotion. After a week of soaping, toning, and lotion-avoiding, I was more broken-out than ever. I switched to Neutrogena's acne care line and have been happy ever since... though I'll never get back that $27.50.
