I think this is great for just a hint of red coloring on your lips. It's like wearing a tinted lip balm but cheaper. The color is very sheer, almost like you were pinching your lips. I also use it over other lipsticks to give them a darker, redder color. The color does not come out as harsh as it looks in the tube.
