I bought these out of sheer desperation. I wanted to lighten teeth stained from years of drinking nothing but Coke, but didn't have $300+ to spend getting my teeth bleached at the dentist.
I had to order these online (they aren't available in Canada) and they came to about $100 CDN, shipping included. So the price was acceptable; I got a three week supply of strips for my upper and lower teeth, and a free toothbrush and tube of whitening toothpaste to boot!
The strips themselves are easy to use: they look like a clear plastic tape, which you peel off it's backing and postion over your teeth with the gel side down. They stay put and aren't uncomfortable at all. The only problems I encountered with them were 1) they made me drool like crazy----it could just be me, but I find I have to spit (yuck---sorry to be graphic) every few minutes if I have one in my mouth---only the good Lord knows why... 2) As a result of number one, I had to wear the upper and lower strips seperately---or I drooled like a rabid bog. You must leave them in for half an hour, twice a day, and two hours of drooling each day was too much for me, so I eventually gave up on my lower teeth and used them on my uppers only.
It's been almost three weeks (I have four strips left) and I have definitely noticed a difference---I tried to cut down on my 'Coke habit' and having left my lower teeth alone I can really compare the color. I don't have blindingly bright white teeth, but the results are far better than any whitening toothpaste I've ever used and noticeable enough to give me a nice confidence boost. (I can't wait to do my lower teeth---they look so yellow now!) I never experienced sensitivity either (which they warned I might).
Overall I give them a four---they aren't cheap, it takes a little time to see results (and the drooling I could have really done without), but they DO make a difference. I plan on buying these again.
