Let it blow, let it snow - Frederic Fekkai's Winter Hair Line offers every protection for this icy, sleety, hair damaging and drying weather.

One of my favorites in this collection is the Lift-Define-Shine Styling Compact (or, as some call it, anti-hat-head - you know how pushed down and matted hair can be after just a short while in a snug hat or cap).

Well, I'm a bit of a scarf person and usually wrap a wool one around my head when the temp dips, which has the same unattractive effect. But, this slim mirrored compact is my double duty first-aid kit. One side holds Glossing Balm, and the other a light wax for lift and definition.

For shine I rub a small amount between my palms and then work evenly through my hair. The result is a healthy sheen. If added definition is needed I simply massage a bit of wax through roots and under layers. As my hair is short this is especially helpful for bangs and side waves.

Since these are from Frederic Fekkai I needn't add that both have a lovely subtle scent, rather clean and crisp that doesn't battle with any fragrance I may be wearing.
