I stumbled upon this primer totally by accident. Garden Botanika was having one of their 'buy so many for so much' promotions and I was one item short. As I already own most of their shadows, I was stumped. The SA recommended this primer, but I balked. The sample was extremely dry and hard--who wanted to attempt to rub something like that on your eye. She opened a new one, and the texture was totally different (Let this be a lesson--keep those primers tightly closed). I LOVE this stuff!!! I've bought it for my mom and both of my sisters. It goes on easily, and evens out the skin tone on the eyelid. It dries to a powdery finish, but I also powder before applying shadow. The primer lets the shadow be applied more smoothly, with less tugging, and the colors stay more true. Try this test: Put a strip of primer on the back of your hand, the swatch a stip of eyeshadow across the primer, and bare skin. YOu can see the difference in color. My shadow now last all day, with minimal if any creasing (and it's 110 degrees here). This product used to cost under ten dollars, so it's much cheaper than other brands, and just as, if not more so effective. Garden Botanika offers a catalog as well as a website.
