My 16-year-old son has mild-to-moderate acne. The dermatologist prescribed Retin-A, which literally tore up his face. On to samples of Triaz, a prescription only 3% benzoyl peroxide wash. It worked, but cost $68 per bottle, so I went in search of a more reasonably priced bp product. I learned you can't buy a bp wash at a drug store; they only sell bp spot treatments. Pro-Active has a bp wash in their line but I didn't need the whole line, and the price for 4 oz of cleanser was high. So I found Jan Marini's line. Given the generous 8 oz size of the bottle, it's reasonably priced (especially compared to Triaz). It doesn't lather, but it rinses without residue. I('ve tried it too, works great on my slightly acne-prone back). My son's face has never looked better. No redness, no irritation, just smooth skin. One point off because the product comes with no ingredient list, and no instructions for use. Some people are allergic or sensitive to bp solutions, but if you aren't, THIS type of product should be your first try if you have acne. I can't, for the life of me, figure out why dermatologist are still pushing Retin-A for mild-to-moderate acne. It's simply too harsh.
