I happened upon a very generous sales assistant at the Kiehl's counter the other day, who literally filled my hands with samples. This leave-in hair conditioner was one of them. I was told that I would only need to use a small amount of this leave-in on freshly washed, damp hair to ensure that it would become silky and shiny, even through heat styling. Since I'm always looking for a nice leave-in treatment, I've spent the last week or so using up my samples.
On the plus side, a little bit of this goes a long way. The conditioner itself has a light creamy texture and contains panthenol, coconut oil and a special sunscreen to protect the hair from sun damage. There is no real fragrance (if you sniff really hard, you can almost smell the coconut, but it's so faint, you might as well be imagining it). It's easy to work through the hair and doesn't feel greasy, waxy or sticky when applied.
The down side is that it won't really do anything special to your hair. I did not notice any added softness or shine, it has no detangling properties, doesn't help make styling easier---it basically does none of the things I'd expect from a leave-in treatment. It did no real harm either, but for the price it should at least help *something*. I guess my search continues...
