I've been searching for the perfect concealer for quite some time now. I've been plagued with moderately dark circles ever since I was a toddler and almost everything I have tried, including Shiseido, Laura Mercier, and Aveda, has either been too cakey or did not cover enough. Then while at the Lancome counter with a friend who was purchasing some lipgloss, I happened to glance at their Maquicomplet Complete Coverage Concealer. I spend so much money on concealer I slapped myself on the wrist for even looking. But I tested it on in the store anyways. I didn't buy it right away as I wanted to be positive that I was going to shell out $23.00 because my current concealer wasn't doing the job. After asking a few friends and my mother how my Shiesido concealer looked, all four concluded that while it did cover, it was noticable. So I made another trip to the mall two weeks later.
The concealer comes in a shiny black rectangular shaped tube with a wand applicator and Lancome Paris and Maquicomplet in gold letters on the sides. The colors available are Clair II, Correcteur, Ivoire, Light Buff, Camee, Medium Bisque, and Suede. The color I chose was Ivoire which is about a shade lighter than my skin tone. I have very fair skin with extremely subtle olive undertones- not pink or peach. I have a hard time finding the right color so I was surprised at how well it matched despite the smaller selection of colors compared to some brands. The consistency is a liquid but at the same time still creamy and extremely blendable. I dotted it on under my eyes and around my nose- and mind you, a little really does go a long way. It blended wonderfully and seemed to soak into my skin. It dries with a somewhat powder finish, which I usually don't like, but this was different. It covered my circles completely and also the redness around my nose. The finish was extremely natural and had a very lumnious look to it. It feels very sheer and looks so natural but as the name says, completely covers. I have combination skin so I can't speak for anyone with very dry or oily skin, but in my experience it worked great. I've never had a better concealer in my opinion and will definately purchase another tube. I rate Lancome Maquicomplet Complete Coverage Concealer a 5 out of 5 because I really couldn't find anything I disliked about it.
