This mascara is pretty good. It is fiber-free and gel-based. It defines well, has a pretty black color, and does not flake, is water-resistant and lasts most of the day. I gave it a 4 because it does smudge occasionally; however, I am also an eye-rubber. It washes off easily with water and a gentle cleanser like Cetaphil. I would like to hear what others think about this product.
