This is the best hair dye I have used. I don't know how the lighter colors work, but the medium to dark brown works really well. The dark brown TOO well if you normally have light-medium brown. I dyed my hair last fall, to remove some of the summer highlights, and it turned out darker than I wanted. It did dye to the color it was supposed to though. I just chose too dark of color. The dark brown lasted almost two months, until I was finally able to lighten it. It really is "fade resistent", like they say. Loreal has the best hair dye products.
