I'd really give this product a 3.5 rather than a 4. I loved the color of this lipstick, and the feel of it. Eternally Mauve is a very pretty, natural looking rosey-pink that really brightens up my pale skin tone. It goes on smoothly and sets to a semi-matte finish. It is a little more matte looking than most of today's "juicy" looking lippies, a plus or a negative depending on your preferences. My problem with this lipstick is that it does NOT last 8 hours, or anywhere close to 8 hours. On my lips, it didn't last any longer than an ordinary lipstick, and I needed to reapply it frequently. And then there's the perfumey smell and taste. I've bought plenty of L'Oreal lipsticks over the years and I haven't noticed any of their other lip products smelling like this -- very strong. The smell and taste fade pretty quickly, but it's still unpleasant initially.
