Not only is this product easy to apply, but it comes in a good range of shades (including black, which is what I got). Its relatively inexpensive ($10 for a 2.5 gram pot). I use a flat brush that I bought from an art store for cheap (under $5 compared to outrageous department store prices) and I just rub a little of the cream on the brush and apply! It doesn't smudge, smell, or flake either!
