M.A.C, being the makeup brand of the moment and oft reccomended, caught my interest. I think the foundation of any cosmetics line should BE its foundation, so that's where I started. I went to Macy's in New York city to see what I could find. The very helpful and animated saleswoman suggested HyperReal foundation because I wanted a "flawless" look. There in the store she appilied color #100 on me with a foundation brush. In the store it looked great,it did. A bit shiny on my combo skin, but great. I bought both the brush and the foundation. The next day when I went to apply it at home it looked way to sparkly for everyday use. I normally am pretty oily in my t-zone are and but by 2pm my skin there felt dry. My normally comfortable to dry cheeks itched from lack of moisture, and the color in the sunlight made me look pale. The next day I woke up with 3 huge zits and several small ones on my face. I was still dry though! I couldn't believe it! I went back that day to take the foundation back. I kept the brush- it applies foundation wonderfully. I exchanged it for Lancome Photogenic but that is another review. I suggest not trying Hyper Real. It is very very shimmery, and made my skin go crazy. The foundation brush, however, is ezcellent ($25)
