NC30 is actually the color of the sample given to my sister. I have yet to take a trip to the MAC counter to get my own sample. In any case the color wasn't quite the right match for me (I was a MAC C2 in their old system) but I'm sure there's a match out there. Anyway, this foundation is definitely an improvement over their previous version, which was not matte at all and can feel greasy. This new formula feels very light on the skin, although it still does not provide a totally matte finish (I find it dewy--not a bad thing actually). In terms of oil control it doesn't quite compare with my staple Revlon ColorStay Lite, but in the winter months this foundation will probably be more comfortable to wear. Will I plunk down $20+ for a tube of this? Probably not at this moment. Still it's nice to know there's another great foundation out there for us...
