I also own the non-waterproof version of Great Lash, which smudges like there's no tomorrow. But let me tell you -- this one is my new holy grail! I really wanted to like the non-waterproof version because it leaves my lashes black as night, defined, and very shiny, but its smudginess annoys me. When I first opened the waterproof one, I was a bit wary because the formula looked a bit dry. So I tried pumping the wand inside the tube and I found this smooths out the formula a lot. This stuff HOLDS A CURL really well, DEFINES as well as THICKENS somewhat, LENGTHENS somewhat, and MAKES MY EYES POP and LOOK BIGGER. It DID NOT SMUDGE throughout the day (as mascaras tend to on me, because of my oily skin). Thumbs up!
