I hate conventional eyelash curlers.... so thank god ModelCo isn't a conventional brand! Instead of a clamp, this is a battery powered heated rod with grooves that you press against the base of the lashes for about 15 seconds and magic! They curl.

The only trouble I had with this initially was that it was hard to tell the difference between on and off settings. It resulted in batteries dying. The heat isn't very strong as you would imagine. It either wasn't clearly marked or the print rubbed off. I soon got the hang of it. What a great gadget.
