Hot Voodoo is a medium coppery bronze with a tinge of red to give the color some oomph with a soft frost finish. This is the type of color I didn't think I could wear until I found this particular lipstick. I have trouble wearing lip colors that are really warm. I think the tinge of red gives it that something extra and allows me to pull it off. I like the color, but only reach for this lipstick occasionally. I have to be in the mood to wear a lipstick with copper in it. The lipstick applies smoothly, is richly pigmented and has great staying power. However, Hot Voodoo is on the dry side IMO. It doesn't dry out my lips, nor is it uncomfortable to wear, but I have noticed that HV has a drier texture than most other lipsticks in the NARS line.
