The treatment was effective on a few blemishes, but on others
it seemed to have no effect or left the blemish red & irritated.
It seemed like a good idea for an acne product, but didn't work
as well as I hoped. Changing my
diet has been more effective than anything I've tried other than a prescription. What medical "experts" say about diet not being the cause of acne probably isn't true. People I know have had the same problem with the same foods (one of them was Hershey Kisses).
I looked into this topic some more because I noticed that people in other countries don't have as much acne as Americans, and our diets are different. The biggest possible differences that might cause it are the following foods: deli-meats or luncheon meats, hot dogs, bacon, or other meats preservatives;
cottonseed oil (usually in potato chips, and some candy & chocolate bars), pizza or
foods with soft cheeses (or too many dairy products), possibly peanuts.
Also, try eating more fruits and vegtables (especially fresh) and
drinking more water. I've heard that supplements of flax seed
oil or borrage seed oil have helped some people with this problem. I've found that eating something like pizza every once in a while doesn't hurt, but when it becomes an everyday food item, my skin gets worse. So it's not eliminating these foods entirely, it's just trying not to eat them too much or too often. For example, if you eat something bad, like pizza or potato chips made with cottonseed oil, you shold try to eat something healthy with it too, like an apple or orange, or a lot of water. Hope you find something that works!
