yes, it does clean all the dirt, oil, on your skin (like all cleansers). it also removes make-up and keep your skin shine-free thoughout the day. yes, it is a good cleanser, and even though it was for acne-prone skin, i thought it would help my pimples too. i've been using it for awhile and i'm glad that it is making my skin look shine-free but i don't like that fact that it is not helping my pimples. this cleanser would be good for people with oily skin.
