Neutrogena Healthy Skin Face Lotion(without the SPF):
This product is pretty hypoallergenic, and is an exellent
exfoliant. Daily use of an exfoliant like this one can lead
to blotchiness(yes, overkill can actually worsen your skin condition),
and dryness. However, exfoliation once or twice a week would
actually subside the blotchiness. The frequency of exfoliation should
be carefully monitored by your dermatologist or yourself.
This product contains:
purified water, glycolic acid(Alpha Hydroxy Acids, AHA, exfoliant),
cetyl alcohol(emulsifier), glycerin(water binding), C12-13(thickener),
Alkyl Stearate(surfactant, making this product easier to spread),
PEG-100 Stearate(thickener), Tocopheray acetate(Vitamin E), retinyl palmitate(Vitamin A),
Ascorbic acid polypeptide(Vitamin C), panthenol(Vitamin B5),
octyl palmitate(an oil-like substance), dimethicone(a kind of silicone, moisture-sealer),
bisabolol(active ingredient in chamomile, good for sensitive skin, and counteracts inflammation,
soothes irritated skin), tetrasodium EDTA(colour, I think), xanthan gum(thickener),
methylparaben, propylparaben(parabens--preservative),
diazolidinyl urea(preservative, 'maybe' a skin sensitizer)
Overall, this product is exellent with a bunch of goodies. I use it on my face and neck once
a week(yes, only once a week), so it's pretty much going to last me forever.
Good results have been observed, smoother, brighter skin is revealed. I make sure I use
a safe suncreen/sunblock to protect the newly peeled skin.
