My skin is combination, I have oil breakthrough in the t zone but it can be dry elsewhere. I am also very acne prone. This toner has cut down on the number of blemishes I get because it removes every last trace of makeup, dead skin, and other junk that my cleanser missed, and that can clog pores if left on the skin. I didn't even know my cleanser wasn't doing a very good job until I added Neutrogena's toner to my routine. I was surprised at how much makeup was on the cotton ball! No wonder I've had such persistent breakouts! I have now switched to a different (better) cleanser, but still use the toner twice a day and it still gets my skin cleaner than cleanser alone. For years I have been under the impression that toners were a waste of time and money, and a step that can be skipped. Well, not for me. I am always surprised to see little flakes of skin and the like come away on the cotton even after cleansing. This toner does not sting my face and turn it red like toners with alcohol and other harsh chemicals. I barely notice the light, fresh scent, but I've read where others find it overwhelming. I love the way this toner doesn't leave my skin tight and dry.
