I'd heard great things about this mascara, so when my latest mascara ran out I thought, "What the heck?! It's only $2!" And I must say that I've been pleasantly surprised. Just one coat definitely lengthened, and left my lashes looking long, dark, and better-than-natural. I would maybe compare the results to L'Oreal's "Featherlash," but the N.Y.C. was much less watery and much easier to apply. Just a few swipes with the really nice, good-for-separating applicator and I was ready to go. However, one coat didn't do alot of thickening; so if thickening is your main goal, you may need either 2 coats or another formula. I took off one point just because it's a little difficult to remove completely with just my nightly Dove and water--I often wake up with greyish racoon rings in the morning. But surprisingly, I haven't noticed any flaking or smearing on my oily skin during the day! Definitely one to try.
