I've heard (and read) so many great things about Paula's Choice cosmetics line that I just had to try it. Never having been impressed with her skincare, I was hoping that I would feel different about her makeup. I sampled both lipstick formulas and her new mascara (see other reviews). I was not off to a great start when I tried her new Cream Lipsticks first. For $1.99 you get a really nice set of 5 lipstick samples. I chose the warm colors because of my yellow-toned skin. Most of the shades were very brown and dark. So far I have sampled 3 of them. While some of the shades look nice on, what I really don't like about this lipstick is the taste. It tastes strongly of perfume, something I can't understand since Paula is supposed to be against adding fragrances to makeup. Also, the staying power of these lipsticks is less than great. There are other cream lipsticks that do far better. And this line is not cheap either. When you add shipping, you will pay over $10.00 for one lipstick. For that price, I would expect a better product. My advice: stick with her matte lipsticks. Now they are something to rave about!
