This is a lot like the Calvin Klein shadows that also come in a tube. I tried the Calvin Klein at Sephora and these Rimmel Shadows have the same effect as far as I can tell. They are a cream shadow that dries in a thin, smooth layer (not thickish like MAC paints). they have a slight shimmer but when on, this is not as obvious as the shimmer in Maybelline Cool Effects. These are also a little thinner than the Maybelline ones, or perhaps seem so when dry. The Rimmel WaterCool gives a wash of color. so if you are looking for a big powder e/s effect this isn't it. However, this is very flattering in the way that the makeup is on the CK models-creating shadows and light without obvious color. They don't crease and I've been putting a little taupe or purple in the crease of my eye on top of them to enhance the color a bit. It all stays on really well. The effect is very youthful. I gave this product a 4 because I think some people won't like the fact that it is not a definite e/s look. I have "on ice" a light yellow I use as a base, "chilled", a lavender lid or crease color and "cool down", a taupe.
