After a couple consultations and much research, Im deciding to take the plunge. Ive read tons of stories from women on the net, but I'd like to talk to somebody more direct I guess you could say. Tomorrow Im scheduling my surgery for sometime in july, but I have to admit, Im getting butterflies already! This is something Ive really wanted to do for a while because I feel so unpoportioned. Im not doing anything drastic, just going from a small A cup to a small C. I just want them to look like my own. So does anybody have any personal experiences? I'd love to hear them http://community.icompact.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

STAY AWAY FROM BREAST IMPLANTS AND COLLAGEN INJECTIONS, PLEASE!

I had collagen injections in my face and within a week had to go to the Hospital Emergency Room due to sharp pains all in my arm.

To make a long story short--the collagen injections caused my Rheumatoid Arthritis, and I've been on disability for years.

Breast implants, collagen injections, and any foreign substance injected or placed into the body can cause one's body to reject it.

Because my body recognized the collagen as a foreign substance, it turned my immune system on, attacking my body. My hands and feet are deformed now, and I'm about like a 85-year old lady.

Breast implants are bound to leak and/or turn hard as a rock, causing lupus, RA, or other immune diseases. This could shorten or end your life.

Please research this before going ahead. I sure wish I had done a little research, but this was before the internet. I was also determined to have it done.

I've had implants since Jan 2002 - no problems at all.

The saline implants are coated with the same type of silicone used in pacemakers.

Good luck and be sure to keep us posted!

feel free to PM me if you have any questions. http://community.icompact.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

You are only 21! Bare in mind that breasts keep growing unlike other body parts! They will get bigger with weight gain, pregnancy and sometimes even going on the pill can affect their size! You say you feel unproportioned but this may just be you! Ask for a friends honests opinion! I am not against plastic surgery but I am against breast implants and face lifts! You know that you will probably have to repeat the procedure in 10 years time?

Sorry if I made you feel bad but that's just my opinion! Good luck with whatever you choose to do!

I'm a long time lurker who rarely, if ever, posts but I just had to tell you how stunning you are in that picture of you with your grandma.

You're still so young. I'm 31 and I know that I didn't start to feel 'at home' in my own skin until my very late 20s. Anyways, I don't even know you but I think you are beautiful ... just the way you are. If that means anything.

I'm not saying not to do it, but you might want to give your body a little bit of time to grow. Oddly enough (and I've found this out personally!), your breasts can still change until you're almost 30. I was an A/Nearly B my freshman year of college, and now I'm a D cup! And I didn't become a D until about a year or so ago... my body just kept changing. 21 is pretty young, so you might want to think of holding off. But if you really want to do it and the doctors are ok with it, then it's really up to you.http://community.icompact.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

You are perfect just the way you are. People are not supposed to be one certain size. My body isn't 'proportioned' (according to American women and society), but I am very happy with my small A cup and big hips and thighs. My body is healthy and works just fine, so there is no way I could ever risk my life to change myself into something I'm not. I really hope you'll rethink this, because even though you probably don't think so, you really are very young. I don't want you to do something you might seriously regret.. Good luck whatever you do. http://community.icompact.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Like I said, I have researched this pretty extensively, and I fully understand the risks and complications. In my opinion, its the same kind of risk people take when they smoke, drink, ect. But this is something I really want to do. I know Im young, but I also know my genes, and my boobs arn't going anywhere unfortunately! I want to be able to wear cute shirts without feeling like a man up on top. Some people dont understand how it feels to be flat chested. And those of us that are flat chested, do understand. Some are okay with it, some are not. Im not. I want to look feminine... Im a woman.

That said, I do appreciate all of your opinions. I realize this is a very controversial subject, and a lot of people dont agree with it at all. Im comfortable in my skin, I just want to enhance a little where I feel I am lacking.

ford2m- Im so sorry this happened to you, and I appreciate you sharing it with me. It gives me a different side to think about.

Nina81- You didnt make me feel bad at all. I would be stupid to think I could post a topic like this without having others disagree. I know that there is a great possibility that I will have to go in again for one thing or another, but i do want to mention that there are women who have had implants for 20 years with no problems. I think it all depends on the person really.

Mia- Thank you so much, your very sweet. I appreciate your compliment. It does mean something to mehttp://community.icompact.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Thanks again everyone for your thoughts, they're much appreciated. http://community.icompact.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Like Mia, I think you look so gorgeous in the pic with your grandma!!! You are beautiful the way you are!!!! http://community.icompact.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

That said, if you think this surgery would make you happier, I say go for it. I have a friend who did it and it changed her in a good way, she's much more confident now...I think it's all in the head cause really, she was already pretty, she didn't really need bigger boobs but it makes her feel better so she looks better! One advice from her: Take a lot of infos on your surgeron and don't look for a bargain, it's better to pay more and have a great job done...!

Good luck and keep us updated http://community.icompact.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

I know my opinion isn't what you want to hear, but I'm very much in agreement with what Dani said. Trust me, as barely a 32A I know what it is to be flat chested (and still very feminine and un-mannish, btw). I'd go on with how I feel about breast augmentation, but my opinion doesn't change anything and would probably only start a brawl here. I wish you luck getting through the sugery safely.

I wish you the best of luck...I guess just really talk with a doctor to make sure at your age it's still OK...I definitely hear that you can keep growing past 21.

Anyways, I'll be thinking of you! http://community.icompact.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Luthien, how did you go from a small B cup to a D cup? Like did you gain a lot of weight, go on the pill, etc?

I have small breasts. I like my breasts and my only complaint is that they are small. I have thought about gettin implants but for me, it's not the option I would want to take so I'll just keep using the flat girl's cheatsheet. haha

For me there was a weight gain (I was a little underweight before), and I did go on the pill, but oddly enough I'd been the pill for years before the breasts started getting bigger. It's been really noticeable in I'd say the past couple of years - truthfully, I've grown out of some of my shirts! My gynecologist even pointed it out when she was doing my exam, checking to see if everything was ok. The only thing I can really chalk it up to is the changes your body goes through as you approach 30. I'm not complaining, though!http://community.icompact.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I also agree with Dani. I am 21 too and chances are you still might grow more. I was a B cup at age 16, went on BCP's and went all the way up to a D. After going off of them I went down to a C and stayed that way for a while. Now that I am 4 months pregnant I am on the verge of being a DD. Personally I hate having big breasts. I'd be happier with an A or B cup, but you know everyone always wants what they can't have. Well I wish you luck with whatever you decide to do http://community.icompact.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I don't have breast implants, but I am certainly not the person who's going to tell you to go against your decision. Honestly, I think that if you want to go for the plunge, then you should just do it. Make sure you research your doctor and look through his portfolio to see what kind of work he does. Talk thoroughly through your concerns and continue to do research. Also, decide what type of look you're going for and bring pictures. I know that a lot of people may think that it's a shallow decision, but only you really know what's best for you, and if you're truly not comfortable with your breast size right now, it's not going to hurt anyone to go ahead and do what makes you feel good out yourself. I wish you the best of luck and make sure that you tell us how everything goes!
