Can these things really protect you from the sun? I have Neutrogena Healthy Defense Oil-Free Sunblock Spray (spf 30), but it just seems like it's way too thin to really be a good sunblock. I guess I'm used to thicker lotions and creams and this just doesn't feel right! Am I worrying too much?

I had that sunscreen a few years ago, but I really don't think sprays are that good. If they're broad-spectrum and you apply them every hour or something, then they might work, but I remember feeling like I was just going to get burned with that stuff on my legs..
Why don't you try Eucerin Extra Protective Moisture lotion? I use the SPF30 and it's awesome. Very light and thin consistency. That and OP spf 30 and spf 50 are my most favorite sunblocks ever. http://community.icompact.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

I agree with everything Dani said. Her recommendations are my favorite sunblocks too.

here's what i do: for the inital application of sunblock i use a lotion. then when it comes time to reapply i use a spray on. hasnt failed me yet using this type of application. in the last 3 days i have spent almost 8 hrs/day in the sun & have no burn, not even a "little color" so i think its safe to say that this method is working for me.
