I went to the salon a couple days ago to have my hair colored and highlighted. The highlights came out okay (dark blond) but the base color is too dark. I asked her to put in a medium golden brown and it's more of a dark, dark brown. It completely washes out my facehttp://community.icompact.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif Anyways, I'm not sure if I should leave it alone and hope it will fade or if I should just go back later and put in more highlights. OR if I should try to change the base color or use a color remover. I've tried shampooing it everyday to help w/ the fading but I guess salon hair color is tougher to fade than home brand. Any advice or suggestions?

I'd most definitely go back to the salon that gave you the service, and express your concern/disappointment to the manager/owner. If you're not happy with how your hair came out, generally, salons will offer to fix the problem at no cost to you (if they're good business owners, that is http://community.icompact.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif ).

Whatever you do, don't try to alter it yourself, because you might find yourself in a worse position than you are in now.

Good luck http://community.icompact.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif!

I'm not sure that I would want to go back. I went to a Hair cuttery that a girlfriend recommended. I would have never went but I had liked how my girlfriend's hair came out. I dunno..... http://community.icompact.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_confused.gif

If they messed it up the first time, I'm not so sure I'd let them try to correct it. I would try to get my money back though. Hair Cuttery is a big chain, I'm sure if the one you went won't give you a refund you could complain to corperate.

The color is going to fade. Given a couple of weeks it may fade to the color you wanted.

Just as Gilda said, the color will fade. Possibly in as little as a week. Whenever I dye my hair it's always darker than the color on the box for a week or two.
