I got my MAC Lipglasses and am ready to review them :-)
I got seven: C-Thru, Underage, Cavalier, Lovechild, Heartthrob, Spirited, and Viva Glam V. They all have that thick, tacky texture that I love, as well as the vanilla-y scent.
~C-Thru was surprisingly pale- on me, it is a warm, milky nude, similar to Milani's Crystal gloss in Secret, although this is of far superior quality IMO. Looks great with smokey eyes- on its own, it is fine, but I prefer to line my lips with a nude liner (Jordana in Nude) first, and then fill in with the gloss, OR line, then fill in with nude lipstick (Palladio in Nude, Clinique Long Last Soft Shine in Perfect Beige), and THEN top with the gloss. I think it's really versatile and I like it a lot.
~Underage is a babydoll pink. Very soft and gives a "sweeter", rather than more "polished", nude-y lip. I like this with neutral eyes and lots of pink blush, or with deep eyes and just a bit of blush. Nice with or without a liner, but I don't bother with one most of the time.
~Cavalier- the MAC website describes this as a dirty mauve, and I think that's correct. It's medium-deep and almost plummy with some shimmer. I feel that it looks best when my eyes are made up more strongly in cool tones as opposed to having this on my lips be the focal point of my makeup, but it goes really well with the deep, smokey, purply eye stuff that I love to do.
~Lovechild- I didn't expect this to be so "neutral", IMO, it's a warm plum on me if that makes any sense, and a really unusual color. Looks great with understated, shimmery neutrals on my eyes and muted blush- my favorite way to wear this one.
~Heartthrob is a soft, shimmery lilac that is slightly gritty because of the fine glittery pieces in it. On its own, it doesn't quite work for me, but over this cheap NYC lipstick that I have called Lilac, it is really beautiful with purple smokey eyes. Which is fine with me, since I bought it specifically to wear this way.
~Spirited is champagne-colored with the slightest pink tinge to it on me. I don't know what to say about it, really, just that I find it really sexy and it goes with a lot of looks. Again this is one of those shades that I like best with more complicated eye makeup.
~Viva Glam V is a slightly shimmery pinky-browny color on me. I like to line my lips with a neutral liner and do the rest of my face in a very "polished" way to really show this one off. It could also go great with deep eyes as well.
AND! I'm so excited, I just found out that there is a new MAC counter about 40 minutes away from me, so I will be planning my next haul soon ;-) Will keep you all posted.
