They're such pathetic things...I'm almost ashamed of them.

1. They're so light, which makes no sense at all. I thought eyebrows were supposed to in the same color range as your hair? Well apparently mine think not.

2. They have the tiniest natural arch I have ever seen..its pratically non-existant. I can't even pluck one into them.

Yeah..those are the two major problems. I do these eye looks with my makeup I really like but end up feeling less confident about them b/c my brows look like crap. They need rogaine or something lol

I need a good product to fill them in or something and give them some ommph. I don't know what to do about their shape...maybe go get them waxed and see if they can wax some shape into them? Dunno, I'm lost when it comes to eyebrows.

Hey Rachel!!

I think it would be a good idea to go and have your brows professionally waxed. They'll shape them up for you, and more than likely, they'll also arch them a bit (especially if you ask them to). Then you can keep up the same look at home by plucking the strays, or you could keep going back and getting them waxed when they need it.

My fave brow products are NYC Browser Kit and Maybelline Brow Gel in Taupe. I much prefer the wax, but since I used all the wax in the NYC kit, I've been filling in my brows with the powder, and then sealing it with the brow gel.

Once these are gone, I plan to order Lorac's Brow Wax. I've heard nothing but good things about it, plus it'll last forever so it'll be worth the money.

Anyways, I HTHS, and let us know what you decide to do/get!! http://community.icompact.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

You could consider getting your eyebrows tinted...I know that a lot of salons offer that service for a pretty decent price. Also, you may want to consider letting them grow out for a month, then letting a professional wax and shape them. Then you can just keep up with the shape by tweezing strays at home. That month would be horrifying, but in the end it's worth it.I did it and it worked out well for me because now I don't have to spend so much time filling in my botched plucking jobs.

As far as a good filling in powder, I like to use MAC eyeshadow to fill in my brows. The trick is if you're fair haired, use a shade that is complementary to your hair without being too pale or dark, and if you're dark haired use a powder 2 shades lighter than your hair. I have very dark brown hair and I used to use MAC Corduroy to fill in my brows. I used a thin eyeliner brush (the MAC one) to fill in my brows, then brushed my brows in place with clear mascara. Or, if you prefer a brow kit, Maybelline's is pretty decent.

Hey, if you have a few dollars to spend, why not just get them tattooed? A friend of mine had that done and they looked wonderful.

I agree with getting them shaped at a salon or somewhere, then keeping them up at home.

As far as something to fill them in, I really like powder. I used pencil years ago (when I was just starting to use makeup and didn't know what I was doing http://community.icompact.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_razz.gif) but powder looks much more natural. Right now I just use a MAC eyeshadow in a similar color to my brows/hair but I eventually plan on getting a powder specifically for brows. Erica mentioned LORAC's, and I've also heard nothing but good things about it.

I'm all with going for a pro first!

As for filling them in, the colour is suppose to be a tad lighter than what your hair colour is. I myself, prefer powder. way more natural!

Don't feel bad. My eyebrows are lighter than it should be too, and the hairs are sparse. I never leave the house without filling them in. Otherwise I'd look like I don't have eyebrows. I've been using Benefit's Browzing for about 3 years now. I have the old version, which is just the wax color. I use a clear brow gel/mascara over it, and the color lasts all day. Of course I make it look natural, and not too dark or fake-looking. A lot of people can't tell that I fill my brows in, they think it's naturally nice like that. Just yesterday my coworker asked me if my brows are tatooed on because it looks so nice.

Oh yeah, my brows don't have an arch either. They're pretty much just rounded. You can see my pic on MUA to see what they look like. HTH. http://community.icompact.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Thanks for your help girls.

I think I'll leave them alone as far as plucking and what not is concerned and get them waxed next month. That will suck but they suck now so not too much loss I guess lol

How much does it cost to get them tinted? Is it hard to find a salon that tints eyebrows?

I love the wax in the NYC Browser Kit..but the powder in the kits are always too dark or too orange for me.

I use clear mascara to sourta tame them into place, it works pretty well for holding them and all that jazz but nothing more

I'll hafta research some brow powder/wax products. Thanks again!

I have fairly light, annoying eyebrows too!! You are not alone http://community.icompact.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif I find that using an e/s with a liner type brush (in my case, Bobbi Brown Blonde e/s seems to work well - very lightly - with BB eye definer brush) When i can be bothered, i set this with Laura Mercier Brow gel (clear mascara really http://community.icompact.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif)It works wonders for naturally defining my light eyebrows. I don't have much of an arch either. Getting them tinted sounds like something i might be interested in too.

ITA with the going to get them professionally fixed up, then you can just look after strays at home.

On my brows I use either Stila brow set. I have brown hair and the "Fair" duo work for me. Well actually only the darker shade of the duo works for me, I have swiped the light taupey shades once. Also I find that Bobbi Brown Mahogany e/s works too, it is closer to my natural color but I tend only to use it when I do dramatic type looks or to balance out my face when I am wear red l/s in the order of Bobbi Brown Mahogany or NARS Fire Down Below.

Methinks a visit to pick up a new e/s to use as a brow shadow is in order http://community.icompact.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Hi Mz LaLa,

sorry no eyebrow advice, I need some eyebrow advice myself I think.

I just check out your webshots, and I saw that you're cat is called mango. I think that is such a great name. And the picture called "another cute geezy pic" is so adorable, he/she? is really performing the art of relaxation there. This is beyond cute http://community.icompact.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gifhttp://community.icompact.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gifhttp://community.icompact.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I never heard the name Mango for a pet before. And the name didn't give any clue if it was a boy or girl http://community.icompact.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif. Very original name http://community.icompact.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I'm an eyebrow freak. I'm obsessive about maintaining them, keeping their shape and having the arch just right. Good eyebrow shape can do wonders for the face.

I agree with everyone else about going to a pro. I'd make sure he/she has been doing it a long time and is really good at it. I find looking at their own eyebrows will kind of tell you how they'll end up doing yours. That's just my opinion and experience though.

The gal I see, suggested Nioxin shampoo on my eyebrows because as I got older I've noticed some bald spots and it helps. I also use Lizette eyebrow makeup kit. It comes with assorted eyebrow stencils, a special brush and brow powder. I've only been able to find at salons. It comes in wide variety of colors. It's the mother of all eyebrow kits out there. IMHO. http://community.icompact.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

I was just in the same boat as you. My hair is dark blonde, but my brows are lighter and had no arch to them. Last month I went to a salon and got them threaded, and it made a world of difference! I never really thought that my brows, being so light, could make such an impact on my face--but having them shaped definitely changed my mind on that. Threading is supposedly more gentle on your skin and many say less painful than waxing (I can't say, I've never waxed them). It only costs $5 at this salon, so I don’t have a problem doing it every month. I do fill them in with brow powder (NYC’s blonde kit or MAC Omega e/s, which is a perfect color for someone with dark/medium blonde hair)

Thanks! I'll remember that when my brows start to thin out http://community.icompact.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
