Ive been on Differin now for a little over a week; ive gotten past the try it out for a week, every other day thing, and now ive been using it for the past couple of days, once a night.
Now my skin doesnt look very pretty at all. Hopefully within a week it will clear up some more from this purging stage.
Ive also been taking this Dorzyx or whatever its called for the last week. No side effects or anything yet.

Good luck with it!
I used Differin for almost five years. I loved it until it got to the point where I didn't need it.
I hope all goes well. http://community.icompact.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I hate the purging stage - I went through that for almost 8 weeks on Finacea, and my skin is FINALLY looking almost perfect since I've been on Bactrim for a little over a month. Thank God - it's about time!!! Just hang in there for the results you want!!

The cleansing stage is the worst. I was using Differin cream for a while when I was younger, but after that initial purging my skin was awesome. Just grab yourself a good concealor and you should be lookin gorgeous in about a week or 2!

I have used differin, retin A and finally accutane and my skin never went through any kind of purging stage for any of them http://community.icompact.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_confused.gif Maybe I'm just some kind of skin freak http://community.icompact.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif I know my derm told me my skin might get worse before it got better on accutane but it just never happened....

My skin breaks out on Benzol Peroxide, don't know if it's purging but I couldn't stand it.
My skin never purged when I started Retin A or Cleocin.
I've never tried Differin.

My "purging" stage with Differin consists of peeling skin, and not much else. Differin does wonders to keep the skin smooth (gets rid of those tiny bumps), but can't keep larger hormonal breakouts at bay. Oh well. http://community.icompact.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

This is good to know. We don't have a derm where I live, and my OB/GYN refused to prescribe anything for my acne beyond BC (can you believe that?) ... but I think that my skin issues are a combo of hormonal and stress. So I don't know what, if anything, this would do for me. I also have really sensitive skin ... I wonder if that would be a problem for me http://community.icompact.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_confused.gif
