Revlon Colorstay Eyeliners?
I am wanting a plain old brown e/l and don't want to spend a fortune on it.
Today when I was out I swiped the tester from the Revlon Colorstay eyeliner in brown on the back of my hand and did my shopping, walked home and found that it hadn't budged. I found it hard to wash off with soap and water but olive oil took it off with a little rubbing.
I have very oily eyelids so I was wondering if anyone with oily eyelids has tried any Colorstay eyeliners?
The reviews on MUA are pretty good but I like to hear what icompacters think about it too.
TIA

I used these until the BB gel liners were born. http://community.icompact.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif . Once it is set, it is not going anywhere. Great stuff at a great price. Now that I am used to using a brush, I find it harder to use. But you should give it a whirl.. I have it in black brown and brown.

I love Colorstay eyeliner! I only have the black shade, but I want to get the black brown, possibly the brown too. They're great - easy to apply, long lasting, and they don't irritate my eyes. HTHS, Carol!

This is probably the best drugstore eyeliners I've ever used. I just wish there's a better way to sharpen them and that they have more colors. Other than that, these are great!

Thanks for the feedback all.
I think there will be a Revlon GWP coming up soon b/c they haven't had one for a while so I will hold off for a few weeks and see what comes up.
Their last GWP was quite good too with full size l/s and SL l/g (in decent colors too) and a handful of samples sizes of e/s, mascara and other bits and pieces.

Yes we have Revlon GWP, but we also have to pay high prices for Revlon - it's like the high end of the drugstore brands.
Revlon even have counters in department stores with MA's there to help you and testers that are in a department store type counter top display.
Having said that Revlon is also sold in drugstores here but the testers are just on the in store display and people can run their fingers through anything so they can get pretty much grungry to say the least.
The prices of the dept store and drugstore Revlon products are the same but the GWP is different. Usually in the drugstore you might get a free matching powder with a foundation purchase.
From the dept stores to get a GWP you usually have to spend AUD$39 (not hard that's usually two products!) The last GWP came in a small cosmetics bag, a full sized l/s in Ginger Rose, a full sized SL l/g in the nudey-pink color (forgot the name), a mini mascara sample (same size a dept store mascara samples), can't remember which e/s but it was a duo and a sample sachet of one of the foundations and I think also a sample of the purfume.
As for prices here, a SL l/g costs around AUD$20, the SL l/s cost around AUD$20 (read $19.95), the color stay eye liner was $20, the new foundation they just released with Botafirm or whatever it is called for mature skins is AUD$36.95 and the new TM or light foundation with Botafirm is AUD$33.95 IIRC.
So as you can see we are paying pretty close to top dollar for drugstore items.
FWIW, a MAC l/s costs around $30, MAC lipglass $33, Bobbi Brown l/s or l/g $40. So as you can see drugstore prices although cheaper than dept store they are still very expensive. So that "free" GWP isn't really free at all.
Having said that if I can score a GWP I would be pretty happy with it b/c when the colors are good it helps your dollars go further.

Just wanted to add that I LOVE the colorstay eyeliner. It's about the best d/s eyeliner I've come across along with l'oreal's Lineur Intense liquid eyeliner. I have the revlon in brown/black, but I just picked it up in "vixen" which looks like a plummy/eggplant shade. I thought it would compliment my greenish/hazel eyes.. I can't wait to try it http://community.icompact.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

That's crazy, Carol! If I was paying those prices, I'd want a GWP too!!

ck_nd: I remember when we first arrived in Australia (lived there for 3 yrs, in Melbourne-South Yarra-which I miss sooo much) and I saw Revlon counters in Myer and David Jones. I was very surprised! I refused to buy Revlon in Oz though knowing how much cheaper it was in the US-I would always make my mum send me stuff http://community.icompact.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

christha1, I hear you! Oh yeah South Yarra is beautiful, I love all the trendy shops down Chapel street.
As for the high prices, there are ways to order online and all that but for the few drugstore items I use I just wait for the sales or go to drugstores that I have a loyalty card with so at least I get a Gift certificate or something like that.
All cosmetic prices are crazy in this country, not just drugstore.
JazzyB: Thanks for the rec for the Vixen color, I was looking at that one the other day but I think I will try a brown one first and see how they perform and then branch out into a few different colors if they work on my oily eyelids http://community.icompact.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
