Which light should you believe when judging if your foundation is the right color - outdoor or indoor? I am wearing CG TruBlend in Natural Ivory - I have pink undertones, and at home and outside in natural light this is a great match. But at work under flourescent lights, I look too pink sometimes. But not all the lights at work. Only in certain areas of the building do I look too pink, but in others it's a perfect match. (I work retail, so there are mirrors all over the place - I don't go checking myself with a hand-held mirror throughout the building - LOL! Just when I catch a glimpse.)

In the employee break room, I look too pink - on the sales floor, I look too pink in one area of the store - others I look fine. In the bathroom at work, at home, in the car and outside - perfect match.

So what mirror do I trust? I tend to think the outside is most accurate, but I don't want to look pink at work either. What would you do? Get a different color? Or just stick with what I have?

I always go by how I look outside, in natural light.

If you look pink at work it's because of the lighting and everyone else probably looks pink too. http://community.icompact.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Yep, I've always heard it's natural light it should work best under. But one thing I noticed with the trublend is the cool colors do run very pink. Normally I'm in the cooler shades in CG stuff but I couldnt wear the cool tone trublend shades, I had to use the neutral one (same with loreal's version) but if it really is a perfect match in normal lighting I wouldnt change colors.

I agree with the others - as long as I look good in natural light, I don't worry about it. I do my makeup in the bathroom (because that's where the mirror is, LOL!), but then I always check my makeup at my window with natural light. HTHS!

Thanks ladies - that's what I thought too. I just hate seeing that pink face, even if I know it's just the lighting. Kind of illustrates how if you match foundation in a store then go outside, how off it can be and not to trust store lighting, only this time it's the other way around!

I'll keep using it, but maybe next time I'll switch to either Ivory or Creamy Natural, since they are more neutral. I totally agree with Samantha though - they do seem more pink than the other CG foundations. I could probably even go with the Classic Ivory. I'll have to buy a sample pack and see.
