ok...so I REALLY don't want to go and fry myself in a tanning booth so I've just been laying out in hopes of getting a tan/some color and to clear up some of my bacne...

and so far all I've gotten is some color...for the first few days I went out with spf 15...then like the day after that i went out with no sun screen (I know I know I know...I'm bad...) then...I went to CVS and picked up Banana Boat Protective Tanning Oil w/ SPF 15...I have a little more color than with just sun screen but still not "tan"...

I don't want to ravage my skin, but still want a "golden tan"...should i get the dark tanning oil w/ liky SPF 4/0...or is there anything else that still has SOME SPF but still gets you tan...

also I hear using oil can make you break out even MORE even if your tanning...is there anything y'all have used that isn't an oil but gets you tan w/ some SPF (preferably a drugstore brand)..

Thanks so much y'all! http://community.icompact.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Not that I advocate tanning by any means, but when I did tan, I loved Banana Boat Dark Tanning Lotion. I believe it had an SPF of 4. It's not sufficient SPF by any means though. You need at least SPF 15 - preferrably higher if you're going to be in the sun for prolonged periods. I understand the need to be tan (trust me!), but just be safe about it!

Do not use oil if you are trying to clear up bacne. It will only make it worse. Also, the sun isn't really strong yet, so just keep it up, using a good sunscreen, and you will get a tan eventually. It's much safer to do it slowly http://community.icompact.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Have you considered sunless tanner? I used to never use it...until this year. I went on vacation and got some color, and when I came home I applied some sunless tanner just to enhance it. I fell in love with the results so much that now I'm continually applying one or two times a week.

Sunless tanners are made so well now that they don't look fake anymore. Everyone still believes I'm tan from being outside! Of course, I don't deny it. http://community.icompact.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif LOL

I've never been so tan in my life-and it's the only "safe" tan.

I love the No-Ad kind available at Wal-Mart. They have a new tinted version that instantly makes you look bronze and you can see any streaks. Plus, a big tube was less than $4!
