This is definitely my most professional item yet. I hemmed it all and even added a zipper, something I could not do before. This skirt is a benchmark in my sewing.
I used a LOT of math in making it. No pattern. Took 2 hours; hemming all 8 panels sucked. But it was worth it. Don't know if you can tell if there are 8, but there is, I promise!
Material was $1.30 from a remnants bin at JoAnns. Zipper was $1.50, I think.

I'm proud of my zipper lol.
I'm adding white lace to the bottom hem soon. It looks boring without some kick.
Tell me what you think! Have a good one.

You did an awesome job, especially for not using a patternhttp://community.icompact.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif It takes skill to be able to sew without patterns. I also happen to have this skill so I admire you even more because I firsthand know how hard it can be. And you did an excellent job on that zipper. That skirt looks really nice and professional. Floral prints are really in this season too. ....sorry to start rambling, only a fashion design student like me could get excited about fabric, sewing, and free hand sewinghttp://community.icompact.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Looks great, Karen. Very professional looking. I've yet to master the zipper myself.
Great skirt. http://community.icompact.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif I need a tutorial! I love sewing more than anything else in the whole world. I love to fix my own clothes and make them different or attempt to make my own dresses and such, and bags too (my favorite one to make atm is Jordy's Hobo bag on craftster). http://community.icompact.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif ITA with LaFeeVerte about craftster.org - if you've never been there you need to go right now. It is heaven.
Here is a list of the tutorials:

It's a very inspiring site--it makes me wish I had more time to do some of those projects. Maybe when I get home from the H-moon I'll make a wraparound camoflage miniskirt.
Great job. I love the fabric. You get better and better all the time. You made your own pattern very impressive.
I think I already told you I'm a memeber of craftster.org. I agree with LeFee Verte and Dani You would definetly fit in there.
Dani, thanks for the tutorial list. I didn't even know someone took the time. That must have been a lot of work.
