i am currently using one from a japanese brand : Sofina. i like it that it is non-greasy, but the problem is that i have rather dry skin and this stuff dries me up! this is rather usual since i'm living in Hong Kong (tropical area).
i was thinking if i should get neutrogena's ultra XXX sunscreen spf 30, but i read in MUA that it's rather drying and parsol may not be stable....i'm so confused....
just to sum up what exactly i'm looking for:
1. a sunscreen that works (i don't want to get tan)
2. not too drying (since i have dry skin)
3. not slicky (since i live in a tropical area, most creams would feel slicky...)
4. plus, there're fewer choice here, we don't have eucerin, dove, OoO (not the products US have), Jason, Ocean potion, Banana Boat...and for neutrogena, we just have this Ultra sunscreen ......

can anyone help? do u think neutrogena's ultra sunscreen will be too drying? will it keep me from getting tan?

thanks a million

Are you using Sofina's VeryVery range instead of RISE range? If yes, maybe you can switch to RISE because VeryVery is more suitable for combination-oily skin. There's also a brand called Sunkiller(available at Sasa outlets) which received raves from Singaporean girls, HTH http://community.icompact.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

no, i'm using the spf 50 one, it doesn't belong to these ranges because it's not a moisturiser...but i've tried rise before and i find it drying too

Neutrogena's was dry and irritating on me. RayRay recommended Eucerin SPF 30 and I'm looooving it!! No breakouts and I seem to stay moisturized! http://community.icompact.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

thx.....
actually i went to the drugstore yesterday to try the sunscreen on the back of my palm. it seems quite watery and feels nice at first. but then after a while when i rubbed my hands some 'eraser-residue-like' substances comes off. now i fear the sunscreen may come off easily and would not give adequate protection....sigh...we don't have eucerin here....

If you can't find that's non-greasy, what you can do is always apply baby powder to your body afterwards. That's what I'm doing with my Ombrelle. I absolutely adore that sunscreen but it can make my skin a bit on the slippery side. so I just dust off with baby powder and I'm done http://community.icompact.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Do you have sunscreens that come in a gel form? I find that when I use these in combination with my regular moisturizer then I don't have a huge problem with flakey skin.
