I finally got my Macy's Star Rewards card in the mail yesterday from my wedding registry, and hubby was nice enough to tell me that I could use it to buy makeup - $70! I got:

My first-ever MAC pigment! They had very few colors at the counter, but there is a freestanding store in another mall near me that I want to check out someday. I got Softwash Grey, which is a grey/silver with purple tones that I like a lot. I haven't worn it yet, but I did try it on. I have a question for all of you MAC lovers out there - what does the pigment called Sunpepper look like on? I was eyeing that one too, but wasn't sure if it would be too orange or red.

Clinique Perfectly Real Makeup - I got the lightest shade in this, and while the color match is perfect, it is way too greasy for my oily skin. It's recommended for Type III skintypes (oily), and I am a Type IV (very oily) so this is probably why it doesn't work for me. I'm going to exchange it for something else.

Clinique Line Smoothing Concealer in Moderately Fair - This is an old favorite of mine so I'm keeping it.

I still have about $11 left on the gift card so I'm considering putting it towards another MAC pigment! http://community.icompact.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Nice haul! haha I love Clinique too! Not just cos I used to work for them! I love almost all their stuff! http://community.icompact.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif I wasnt much of a fan of the PR either and I'm a type 2 http://community.icompact.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

Sunpepper is a little bit on the red side, on me anyway. I didnt like it but I'm keeping because I am hoping I can make it work by mixing it with Shadesticks http://community.icompact.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif Its like the blue-brown-green/brown pigments too!

Nice haul and yay for getting your first MAC Pigment! I really like Softwash Grey. I've heard Sunpepper is similar to Blue Brown, which is a reddish-brown base that flashes blue. Blue Brown isn't my best color, so that's why I decided I didn't need Sunpepper. Anyways, enjoy your goodies!

I don't have it, but I've heard, like Erica said, that Sunpepper is very similar to Blue Brown pigment, but minus the bluish sheen. It's like a burgundy shade, and I've seen pics of it used as a gorgeous blush and as a lip color, so that might be of help to you if you're interested in it http://community.icompact.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif!

Nice haul! Congrats on your first MAC pigment. I've been lemming a piggie for a long time, but am afraid I may love them so much, I'll want them all! Let us know what you decide to pick up in place of the Clinique Perfectly Real Makeup! http://community.icompact.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Nice haul!! I love softwash grey, it's such a beautiful shade. Sunpepper is very similar to Blue Brown, which can be a bit red, but if you layer it over black e/s, it'll bring out the blue in it. Maybe try a sample first? Some MAC stores/counter give out sample. Enjoy everything!

Nice haul, but too bad about the foundation. I hope you enjoy wearing your first MAC Pigment. I don't have Softwash Grey, but it's a cool-looking color!

If you don't end up buying Sunpepper, I think you'd like Tan or Chocolate Brown in the alternative since you like your neutrals. http://community.icompact.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Ok ladies, I went back to the Clinique counter Friday night to return the Perfectly Real Makeup. I got a Macy's credit for it and put the money towards a Clinique Touch Base in the shade Canvas Light (a HG product for me that I have been without for a few weeks) and another MAC pigment!

I bought Sunpepper, and I really LOVE it! On me though, I don't see any brown or blue tones at all. I don't have MAC's Blue/Brown Pigment, but I have L'Oreal HIP's version called Intrepid. On me, Sunpepper reminds me of Clinique's Colour Surge Eyeshadow in Lucky Penny (which I also have) although a bit darker with silver shimmer. It has champagne tones in it which prevent it from looking too pink, because I definitely can't pull off pink eyeshadow. It's gorgeous and I'm sure I'll get lots of use out of it. Like I said before, I just don't see the blue or brown tones that you gals have mentioned, but I guess this shade might look different on everybody depending on your skintone. I have a very weird skintone - I'm pale, but I don't look pale because of my neutral undertones. I'm somewhere in-between fair and light, and matching foundations is so hard. That's why I stick to my Almay Clear Complexion Foundation in Buff, and I'm back to using it now after my disappointment with Clinique's Perfectly Real.

I still want to go to the MAC freestanding store one day and check out all of the pigments that they have - my counter only had about seven or eight. Dazzleray looked like a really pretty gold shade. Does anybody have both Dazzleray and L'Oreal HIP's Pigment in Tenacious? I have Tenacious and I'm wondering if Dazzleray is the same shade. Night Light looks like a really pretty shade too. I definitely want more pigments, but I also want to see those holiday sets when they come out too!

I also wanted to add that I love Softwash Grey! I wore it to work on Friday. It is a gorgeous silvery grey on me! It's great for a smokey eye!

I'm glad you ended up exchanging the foundation for two other products you love! Sunpepper seems like a very pretty color. I'm glad you're enjoying Softwash Grey, too.

Glad you're enjoying Softwash Grey and Sunpepper!

Night Light is a gorgeous shade. I found it pretty unique in my stash, and thats saying a lot since I have like 200 e/s, haha.
