Do you think jogging 2-3 miles 3-4 (usually 4) days a week is good enough to make an impact on weight loss along with reduced calorie intake? If not at least it makes me feel good lol

Also do you think being able to do a mile in about 12 minutes is good? I want to get it down to where I can do a mile in 10 minutes.

I think that sounds like a gat start! The more you do it, the easier it will get and the faster your mile times will be!

It will def make a difference in how you feel. Once I started running I felt a lot better, and it prolly will help with weight loss. Good luck! http://community.icompact.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

sounds like a good start -- dont get discouraged tho if you dont or cant meet your goals -- you might walk to start w/ power walking or even the couch to 5k program. good luck with whatever you try!

Well hopefully it will make an impact. I've been going to the gym 3-4x a week now and 12 minutes for one mile is my tops although at times I hafta bust my ass to do it lol

I'm feeling positive about it...it works up a sweat and the heart rate monitor says my heartrate goes up to like 175 when I'm at my peak..so I think that is pretty good.

Haven't stepped on a scale since I started..sourta afraid to...probably will weigh myself soon though to see if I'm making an impact.

When I'm working out like that though, it's easier not to care so much about the weight loss b/c all that exercise makes me feel great regardless.

I also think that's a good start. And even if you didn't actually lose much weight, but your clothes fit better, than that's a sign that your routine is effective.

ITA I almost never lose weight, I lose inches. I don't really weigh myself anymore, I go by how my clothes fit

I think that's an excellent start, and it should definitely help with weight loss. Don't worry about how long it takes you to go a mile. Your speed will improve with practice. What counts is that you're out there doing something. That's more than a lot of people can say. Stick with it!

That is a great start! Running is definantly one of the best things you can do for yourself. It makes you feel soooo much better about yourself, and helps with weight loss. GOOD LUCK!

Sounds good. My brother and sister were in Cross Country in high school and it helped them a lot. You could also try the Core Secrets program. I got turned onto it because of Kately, I think it was, and in 2 days my waist was noticeably smaller and tighter looking. I bought the Ab Assault duo at Super Target for $29.99 and the exercise ball at Walmart for just under $12.00. Before my waist was between 26" - 26 1/2" and now it is 25 1/2" when I measure in the morning, and no I haven't been starving either, but try to stay between 1,200 - 1,500 calories a day. Sometimes I mess up and eat a candy bar or something from McDonald's, etc. etc, and it is still giving me results without being a perfect eater. I was gone out of town for 5 days and did not exercise or eat very wonderfully because I couldn't, and I still have my smaller waist intact. http://community.icompact.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif I have always loved the older Firm videos and they helped me a lot, but even this Core Secrets is working faster for me. I feel a lot trimmer and look better in my clothes. If you do it, try and use heavier weights for certain moves. I was using 5 pound weights for my arms, then switched to 8 pound weights and quickly my arms started to look thinner. I think that fewer repetitions with heavier weights yields the best results the fastest. I am really loving this Core Secrets program.

Oh yeah, you could also run/walk with those special hand weights. That would be helpful. HTHS! http://community.icompact.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Hell yes. I've lost 5 pounds since I started running. I started last Thursday and I've been doing it for a week everyday for an hour. I live on a parkway and it's about an hour to walk around the entire thing, so I do that everyday. I just go in a big circle.

Thanks girls!

I have been keeping up exercising and eating less and am noticing a difference. I haven't really stepped on a scale lately b/c usually when I see numbers alone it holds me back some. The difference in the way my clothes fit and how I look in the mirror can be more motivating at times http://community.icompact.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

There's been times lately when I haven 't been able to do my regular routine on my usual schedule b/c I've been so busy lately but still doing it at least a 2 times a week seems to keep my metabolism up and I feel better/have more energy and am less hungry.
