I tried on at least 8 pairs when I went shopping today and it was in 1 store (Express)! Worst of all, none of them looked right http://community.icompact.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_mad.gif . They were either too tight, too short, too small, or too big. I'm thinking about just splurging on a brand like Seven or True Religion. What do you guys think? Is it worth it? Do their jeans work for someone who is pretty petite (5'4", 98 lbs)? TIA! http://community.icompact.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Hey, we're the same size. I have a few great pairs of LEI ones I got from Kohl's.

If you have the money and find a pair that fits, I think getting pricer jeans is worth it. Designer jeans tend to be smaller and have more sizes/fits so you'll eventually find something that works with your bod. You just have to try them on. If you are still not sure, check out American Eagle Outfitters for an inexpensive jean. I'm about the same size as you and they have a petite size that fits.

I hate jeans shopping, too! At 5'2", it's pretty much impossible. I've resorted to just cutting the bottoms of my jeans, which isn't my favorite thing to do but oh well.
I've found some good pairs at AE, but I have to try on several and then I find a magical size.

ughh!!! tell me about it...if i could fit into the designer ones i would so splurge on it but sadly i don't...i'm a 0 sometimes 00 in certain brands...express and AE don't fit me...i found some that fit pretty good from Mudd at macy's but they do n't have the designer washes that i like. i recently found out that charlotte russe has a line of jeans called refuge and 0 short fits me perfectly!! i found a pair of semi destroyed ones and am loving a dark wash pair they have that has a designer wash look to them but they were out of sizes...and they are cheap too 29.99!! but it's weird how different washes and style fit differently even though it's the same size for that brand...hth...but i'd still vote for designer jeans if you could find one!!

I agree with you, My! I hate Express jeans. I own 3 pairs though, but they fit pretty awful. I only bought them because they were having their jean sale so I think they only cost like either $20 or 25.
I buy my jeans in the junior department now. I buy a size 5 since juniors run smaller than regular. I think I wear a 2 in regular. My favorite brands are Cavaricci and Anchor Blue.
At the moment, I particularly would hate the idea of jean shopping since I am getting out of shape and out growing my jeans so I will probably be between sizes. I just really hate the fact that I am getting bigger, yeah I know that's life but still, I hope to be a size 2 forever. http://community.icompact.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif
So right now, I'm waiting until I get motivated though to actually exercise and until then I'm wearing my previous "too big" jeans that now fit snug.
How about Levi's? They always fit me perfectly.

It don't matter what size you are..shopping for jeans is always a b*tch..I'm convinced lol
I hafta be in a certain mood to even go jeans shopping b/c it's always a hassle.... every brand seems to have sizes that run differently..and once you find the correct size it's always the matter if they are too long or something.
If you're in a good mood one day..go out and try on as many pairs as you can...once you find a brand that works well..stock up!

Diesel jeans might work for you. They tend to run small so you might find a size that fits you well. I agree Levis jeans fit pretty good most of the time, you might want to check them out.

Have you tried Wet Seal? I was with a friend last week browsing around and i decided to try on 2 pairs of jeans. i tried them on and they were so perfect. http://community.icompact.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif I usually hate shopping for jeans cause nothing fits right on me.. even the expensive ones but wet seal was a nice surprise. I usually stick to GLO cause I always thought it was the only jeans that were right for me but I was bored with their style.

I agree with the pp that recommended the pricey route if you want durability. I also like GAP Long and Lean (dunno if they have petite?....), which is sort of middle of the road when compared to Seven and the like. I find that they're jeans last a really long time. I buy Old Navy and cheapies with the knowledge that I'll eventually have a hole in the ass!

i have see a program on tv, that in Las Vegas they have that cistom fit and design jean shtore- like they choose stuff for you (you have a chose of many colors and styles and then they wet it with special liquid while you have them on -then dry and sand them on you. They fit perfectly then, They also do applications and studs etc. May be they have the same in other American cities? It costs like starting 200 or something.

Nat-I've cried, too! Seriously! I was at...I think Kohl's and I tried on 15 pairs to no avail, so I started whimpering and tears came down. I was PMS'y though too (at least, that's my excuse). http://community.icompact.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif
