I have the T.N. Dickenson one and it has a smell to it...not sure if it's suppose to be like that..i seems abit like alcohol and abit sourness...but does witch hazel expire or go bad?? this is brand new so i don't know how it's suppose to smell like...thanks

I think that all witch hazel has alcohol in it as a result of the distillation process, don't know about the sour smell though.

Mine has a smell to it, but I wouldn't call it sour

I have a bottle of the Dickinson's, and it does have a slight smell of the alcohol they use to stabilize it.

I think it has a strange smell too. I think the alcohol is supposed to help preserve it so it won’t go bad.

My husband once exclaimed, "Are you aware how much alcohol is in this stuff? This looks harsh!"
It does have a rather hospital-like smell. Not bad, just very ... sterile.
