but not THAT kind of working woman, LOL! http://community.icompact.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif i am going to be a sub in the public schools in my area -- having not worked for 10 yrs I NEED clothes -- hubby is taking me shopping on sat! yeah for him!

i need some non trendy, easy to care things -- anything/any stores worth checking out?

Congrats! Well my substitute teacher always wore just regular casual clothes. Remember, you're not working in an office, you're going to be in a classroom with kids. So just make sure it is appropriate around children. I think you can even wear blue jeans.

It depends on the district. Some schools allow blue jeans, some don't like them. The first time you sub, wear like black pants or something, until you see what other people are wearing. Same with shoes. The school I am student teaching at now is relaxed and I wear flip flops or chinese slippers. Some schools like shoes with a closed toe and a closed back. As far as shirts go, you can wear anything as long as it's not revealing and you are completley covered. I liek sweaters or button up shirts or polos a lot.
