I just had highlights put in my hair on Friday, and I'm worried about them getting that brassy or green tinge. What do you recommend to prevent that? We do have hard water and I don't know if that makes a difference? Also, is there a certain type of shampoo/conditioner I should be using? Any info you can give me for care would be appreciated. Thanks!

I don't know whether hard water makes a difference, but you should be using a color-safe shampoo and conditioner. I have lowlights and I use L'Oreal Color Vive.

My stylist told me that because the highlights (Double Blonde) take the natural color out of my hair I didn't have to worry about fading or anything. I do use a color-safe S/C, though. Also, we travel sometimes, and I've washed my hair in hard water, soft water, you name it, and I've never had any problems with brassiness or a green tinge. I really like Tresemme Self-Heating hot oil for highlighted hair to add extra moisture, too. HTHS!

Silver brights S and C ... HG for highlighted hair here. They really cut brassyness before it can start. I use these once every 3 shampoos or so to keep my colour good!
