Lately I have been having a love-or-hate relationship with my Almay Clear Complexion foundation and concealer. Some days it looks good and other days it just doesn't blend well. I decided to go back to my old Clinique favorites today. I used to get so many compliments on my "perfect" skin when I used these, and since I still break out with the Almay makeup from time to time, it really doesn't matter if this makeup is medicated or not.
Clinique Superfit Makeup - I wear the shade Shell, which is the lightest neutral shade. This has a natural matte finish and I always wear powder over it. It applies so easily because it has a very smooth texture, and it covers well. I wear it with Clinique's Line Smoothing Concealer in Moderately Fair, which I already had a tube of.
Clinique Stay Matte Pressed Powder - I wear the shade Stay Buff. It almost feels like they have reformulated this powder because it seems a lot silkier than before. They definitely changed the compact - it's a pale green now compared to the deeper sage green it used to be. It looks like jade.
I also went to CVS!
Revlon Super Lustrous Lipgloss - I got the shades Nude Lustre and Raisin Glaze. I love them! Nude Lustre is a pretty peachy-nude on me and doesn't wash me out at all. Raisin glaze is a light raisin shade with copper shimmer. Now I'm lemming Pearl Plum and Glossy Rose. I may go back and get them tomorrow night. I like the very moisturizing formula because I like my glosses to be slick.
Burt's Bees Lip Shimmer - I got the shade Nutmeg. This was an impulse purchase that I grabbed near the register, but I LOVE it! A nice corally shade that is warm enough that it doesn't look orange on me. It reminds me of my HG Clinique gloss that was discontinued called Simply Luscious, only this is a peppermint-scented balm. It's shiny and moisturizing, though! I will probably pick up a couple of other shades.
I also repurchased L'Oreal HIP's lipgloss in Pixie. It's such a great warm peach shade with NO orange tones at all! I love the vanilla scent. This is the only HIP gloss that I really like.
I shipped the MAC Pigments in Shimmertime and Kitschmas back and exchanged them for Melon and Rose. Hopefully I will like those better! Oh and Erica - I decided to keep Chocolate Brown. I tried it again tonight with a lighter hand and it looked really pretty on me. It doesn't have the reddish tones like my Clinique Rum Spice eyeshadow has. I'm glad I kept it.

Nice haul! I hope you'll like Rose and Melon pigments too, rose is one of my fav, it's such an unique shade!! You can use it as e/s, blush, or even on your lips (with some clear lipgloss over), very pretty! I also like Burt's Bee Lip Shimmer, love the minty scent. Enjoy everything.

Awesome haul! I love Rose and Melon!
Unfortunately, I really dont know what to think of the Superfit makeup. The first time I tried it, it was nice smooth, and matched perfectly. Then I tried it a second time and it wasnt so great as it sat on my skin ad made flakies more obvious :(
Anyway, great haul! :D

silverchick - It's funny that you should say that about the Superfit Makeup because I ended up returning it tonight. I wore it to work today and it looked awfully orange on me and not at all like it used to look. I went back to the counter tonight and bought the Superbalanced Foundation in Breeze. I tried it on one side of my face when I got home and it looks like it has yellow tones to it rather than orange. My Almay Clear Complexion Foundation had yellow tones in it and that's the one thing that I loved about it because the yellow hides any redness in my skin from acne marks and breakouts. Tomorrow I will wear the Superbalanced to work with the concealer and powder to see how the color holds up. I'll report back! :)

I'm glad Chocolate Brown ended up working out for you after all.
Nice haul! Sometimes, it's good to go back to old faves, isn't it? Especially when they're face products. I'm glad you like your Super Lustrous glosses. I love them as well. I don't have Raisin Glaze, but I've always thought it was a loverly shade. I do have Glossy Rose and Pearl Plum though, and they're also nice shades. I've gotten more wear out of Glossy Rose since it's a more versatile color for me, but if you love plum lips, Pearl Plum is a great choice.
Enjoy everything, and let us know if you purchase Glossy Rose, Pearl Plum, or any other SL gloss. :)

I remember trying Superfit (same shade, shell) and it eventually appeared too orange for me too. Glad you got to take it back! You'll love Melon pigment...I'm sure you'll love Rose too, but Melon's the 1 of the 2 I do own to vouch for, lol. And I'm always coming so close to picking up one of those BB glosses/balms at the checkout--they always put them there, don't they? At least I know that when I eventually break down & buy one, it'll be good :)

Yes! I L-O-V-E Superbalanced! I'm always raving about it on here because its gives such a pretty, natural, dewy look that I love! I dont like anything too matte :) Glad you like it so far. Please do report back on initial thoughts when you wear it tomorrow! :)

That sucks that the Superfit didnt work for ya, Marisa. I've tried it a couple of times hoping to like it because it looked great on my best friend, but it just turned orange on me, made me oily, and broke me out. Hope the Superbalanced works out better for you!
I love both of the SL glosses you got - I'm currently working on using up Raisin Glaze, but that says a lot since I don't ever get close to using anything up. Glossy Rose is another fave of mine. I really should use it more (but that could be said of most of my stash!). I also really like that BB Nutmeg l/b you got - it's an amazing color and really brightens my face! I feel SO redundant but I also have and like the HIP l/g in Pixie and both the MAC pigments you're going to be getting. Glad you got Chocolate Brown to work for you!
Enjoy everything!

I'm sad ladies! Unfortunately, the Superbalanced Foundation didn't work out for me either. :(
It looked GREAT when I applied it yesterday morning - my skin looked even and the color match was perfect. However, halfway through the day I noticed that I was getting really oily and I just felt greasy. When I left work and got in the car I looked in the mirror and I was ORANGE again! Grrr! Orange and oily, and the foundation was wearing off to boot. I don't know what I should do. I could exchange it for the Stay True in Stay Ivory because I know for a fact that it doesn't turn colors on me, or I could just stick with my Almay and get something else instead (Bonus Time started today and I'm stopping by the counter on Friday to get it and a few things). I wore my Almay today along with the Clinique Line Smoothing Concealer and Stay Matte Pressed Powder and it looked ok, but I am going through a really bad breakout right now, the worst I've had in a while. I have these two huge bumps on one side of my face and another huge one on the other side. I think these may have been due to all of the silicone products I had been using in my hair (BioSilk being the main culprit), so I switched back to the Matrix products I used to use and now I'm going though the slow healing process. I feel so ugly right now, not to mention these large bumps hurt! I hate my skin, and I'm never completely happy with any foundation that I use, which is very frustrating.
Erica - I love Raisin Glaze too! I wore Glossy Rose yesterday and Nude Lustre today and I love those as well. I also wore Night Light Pigment for the first time today and got complimented on it. I've discovered that I like using the pigments dry too. I just have to make sure that they're dark enough to show up on me dry, unlike Kitchsmas and Shimmertime which were too pale. I can't wait for Melon and Rose to arrive! I saw Rose in person when I bought Softwash Grey and it was beautiful. Hopefully I get them soon. You seem to have had the same problems I had with Superfit - why does Clinique have to give all of their foundations orange tones?! It's annoying. GRRR!

Oh I hate to hear Superbalanced didnt work for you either! I just dont like Clinique's foundations. It's so hard to find a HG. About the time I'm ready to call something a HG, it quits working. I have really breakout prone skin, and I'm doing really well right now with Everyday Minerals. I thought PF Mineral Wear Powder was my HG, but I think it may have actually been the cause of the clogged pores which I'm currently going through the hard process of getting rid of with Retin-A. If you dont mind powder foundations, I'd highly recommend trying Everyday Minerals. I just dont think I can wear liquids on a regular basis, but if I did, I know Px Virtual Skin works for me. Anyways hope you find something!!

Well, this is weird...
I decided to give the Superbalanced Foundation another go today, and this time it didn't turn orange. I think I know what is causing the orange tones - my benzoyl peroxide acne medicine (ProActiv). I did not put ProActiv on my face today to see. I only used a little moisturizer with SPF. I'm still not 100% happy with this foundation though and am on the fence about what to do with it. It always seems to cake up around my nose, and a little around my mouth and chin. I hate this! Maybe because it's not made for a SkinType 4? Tomorrow is Clinique Bonus Time and I am heading to the counter so I have to decide what to do about this. I could exchange it for the Stay True which is made for a Skin Type 4 or I could just keep this. All foundation tends to cake up a bit around and under my nose - does anyone else have this annoying problem?
What to do, what to do...
I really wish I had normal (not oily) skin.

I never had any problems with the Proactive Repairing Lotion making my foundation change shades, but I guess everyone's skin is different. Plus as I've gotten older, my skin has normalized so its not super oily like it used to be. I know its frustrating trying to find the right foundation, Marisa. Let us know what you decide!

If you like a matte finsih Stay True works well for me. I used it all summer. I am about to go get a new one at Macys. I want the Super fit but your review scares me!
All foundations end up turning on me. I just hate using powder or I would try the everyday minerals.
I may also get the Perfectly Real powder for weekends.
Sigh....

Well ladies, I bought another foundation and concealer last night: Prescriptives Virtual Matte and Prescriptives Camouflage Cream. I think the shade match is pretty good. The SA said I was a B/R (Blue/Red) which is what I remembered being before when I used this. (I had tried Prescriptives Flawless a month or two ago and the SA at another counter said that I was a Y/O (Yellow/Orange) and gave me foundation so yellow that I looked like I had jaundice.) Anyway, I wore my new products today and so far, so good. It seems that no matter what I use ALL face makeup cakes up a little around and under my nose and on my chin because my skin is so oily. There's nothing that I can do about that, although I do need to get the Virtual Matte powder. Right now I'm using Clinique's Stay Matte powder and the SA at Prescriptives told me that the Virtual Matte powder is formulated to work with the foundation so I'm going to pick that one up soon. These products cover really well, too. I am wondering if the shade is a tad too pinkish but I'd rather look a little pink than yellow, so we'll see. I'll update again after a few more wears.
