I had been reading about Bliss products online these past couple of weeks, so being more than intrigued I decided to head to Sephora to check them out in person. Well, just as I had predicted, I totally fell in love with their Vanilla & Bergamot scent. The Lemon & Sage scent was also delish, but it's definitely a scent that I would wear more in the summer. I like the vanilla a lot more for this time of year. It's very warm and comforting, and this is a scent that I have never come across before in my life. It is light and fresh, yet somewhat complex and absolutely divine. As a matter of fact, all of their products smelled so good! They are 100% better than B&BW's True Blue Spa Line IMO, but very pricey. Here is what I got:
Vanilla & Bergamot Body Butter Maximum Moisture Cream - When they say maximum moisture, they really mean it! This is the perfect consistency I have been looking for in a body cream - thick, creamy and NOT greasy or sticky.
Naked Body Butter Maximum Moisture Cream - This is the exact same formula as their scented body butters but it is unfragranced. They made it so people could still use their body butter without it competing with their perfume. I can't wear perfume anyway because I get migraines, but I bought this unscented version to use after I shave my legs so I don't waste all of the Vanilla & Bergamot. Especially where it is winter and I am wearing long pants anyway.
Vanilla & Bergamot Bath & Shower Gel with Aloe Vera & Sweet Almond - Normally I am not one who uses shower gels because I prefer creamier body washes, but this gel is really thick and looks like it will lather up nicely. Plus I couldn't resist the smell. Hopefully it will not break me out. The bottle is kind of small at 250 ml, but it looks like a little goes a long way. They had a larger bottle in the lemon scent, so I'm going to check online to see if I can order a larger bottle of this if I like it.
Vanilla & Bergamot Body Buff with Shea Butter & Sweet Almond Oil - OMG! You know the thick, pasty scrub that is often used when you get a pedicure? This is it, for your body! I am hereby proclaiming it the best scrub ever. It comes in a jar. I almost died when I tried some on my hand at Sephora.
High Intensity Hand Cream with Macadamia Oil & Grapeseed Extract - I definitely need something for my super-dry hands right now, so I also purchased this in the smaller purse size to carry with me. It smells really nice and seems lighter, but equally moisturizing, as their body butter.
Aloe Leaf & Peppermint Foot Patrol AHA Exfoliating & Softening Cream - This is pale green! It smells sooo minty and fresh. I can't wait to rub it into my dry heels and soles. My hubby wants to use this too.
That concludes my Sephora haul. My skin will be pampered beyond belief for the cold winter months ahead. My next stop was MAC, where I bought Studio Tech foundation. Has anyone ever used this? The SA said that it will not crease and that it blends right into the skin, and when she put it on one side of my face and left my regular foundation on the other side I could clearly see the difference. It covers fairly well. It doesn't cover some of my dark spots completely, but I think it looks worse when I layer foundation and concealer over those spots and it ends up looking cakey and rubbing off anyway. She also gave me a sample of their mattifying gel to try. She said it will fill the little lines and pores in before I apply the Studio Tech. The true test will be when I wear this to work tomorrow. I will update.
At Walgreens, I wanted to pick up a new shampoo and conditioner. My upper back has been breaking out really badly lately but not so much my scalp, which is odd. I'm using Paves' shampoo and conditioner right now and Fekkai's Glossing Creme, so I'm not sure if one or both of these is the culprit. I love my Fekkai cream so much so I decided to get a new shampoo and conditioner to try first. I got BioInfusion Smoothing Shampoo and Smoothing Conditioner, both with Silk Protein. They're supposed to be comparable to BioSilk. The bottles are 1 liter each with pumps on the top. Has anyone tried these?
I also got Ambi Fade Cream and Even & Clear Daily Moisturizer. They're supposed to help fade dark spots. My final purchase was Neutrogena's Radiance Boost Eye Cream. It's supposed to reduce the appearance of dark circles and puffiness, which I am definitely experiencing right now. My complexion has been rather dull and dry, so I'm hoping these products will help.
Any comments/experiences about these products are greatly appreciated!
