You should try Lansinoh...it is designed for breastfeeding moms, but it works fantastically for lips...very healing.

I keep a tube next to my bed for my lips and cuticles. I got mine at Target in the baby section next to the bottles. Just make sure you get this particular brand, it is odorless unlike some Lanolin formulas.

Are you getting enough healthy fats in your diet? If you're not getting enough essential fatty acids, your skin could possibly dry out more too. Maybe look into flax seeds/oil or things like avocados and almonds (provided any of these foods don't cause problems with allergies). There are lots more sources too.

Well peanuts are supposed to trigger herpes if that's what it is. Something else to consider, it is possible that even though you use the same toothpaste, often times companies change up ingredients and mess up a good thing! Not to sound like a broken record but did you just open a new tube of it before the sores started? Just a thought.

I think it could be the peanuts cos I happened to eat stuff with them several times. I started to feel itchy after I opened a jar of crunchy. I don't like crunchy and it shouldn't matter but it made me feel odd eating it. I don't have a problem with peanuts in general.

I forgot I had a bottle of lysine for when I get cankers sores. So I will try that because it usually works for any mouth issues I have. I was already using the Tom's before this happened but you're right. Companies do change stuff without telling consumers.

Thanks Izzie! I have never seen this product before. I wonder if there is a comparable one. A friend of mine might go to the US soon so I can get her to get me some for the winter. But I know we don't sell it here. Target has not arrived yet!

I take a multitude of ESA but it doesn't to help my skin like it used to. I was taking it consistently up until this happened cos I was worried it might be a reaction to some supplement. I heard you got to switch it up so I have another brand to try after I finish this bottle.

Recently, I was using Omegaglow which I thought made my skin look better and I got oil production now.

I started taking the lysine I had lying around and it's helping finally. I can eat without breaking my skin and it seems a bit smaller. I hope it doesn't leave a scar.

Thanks everyone for your support! The lysine I had was expired but it still worked. yah!

Yay! I'm glad you found something that helps. It happens to me sometimes too! It started just last year, VERY PAINFUL! You could also try olive oil or organic coconut oil on your mouth at night, and during the day. Apply liberally & often.

Glad to say that my mouth finally healed after several weeks of suffering. After my lysine ran out I used Quantum Super Lysine + which has other stuff to boost the lysine!

I tried coconut which helped a bit but it was eating that keep making it worse.
